Assistive Listening System
People with hearing impairments can benefit from the provision of portable induction loops in the reception areas of all our police offices.
The units are designed to reduce background noise for hearing aid users, therefore making conversation at reception areas, interview rooms and meetings much easier.
Each unit operates by picking up the speaker's voice, turning it into electromagnetic signals, which are then received clearly by the hearing aid when it is switched to the 'T' position.
A sign indicating the presence of a portable induction loop will be displayed in all of our police station reception areas.
