Learning from complaints
Investigating all complaints appropriately will hopefully provide reassurance and satisfaction to you as a complainer. It will also provide Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary the opportunity to identify and record learning and training needs to try and ensure that the same mistakes are not repeated in the future. This may involve:-
- review and/or change where necessary policies, procedures or practices;
- ensure that learning points are fed back and acted upon within force or if deemed appropriate at national level;
- monitor and action any national level learning points derived from PCCS complaint handling reviews or any other source.
